HiI am Karen. As an analytics manager, I am passionate about how data science and analytics can support businesses and help them better understand their customers. But while digging into data is fun, experience taught me that it’s only a small part of the job and getting to where I am at today wasn’t an easy task.

I faced an impostor syndrome, was labelled as too shy to succeed in a client facing role, struggled to find my space and my voice. Overcoming all these challenges helped me realise that I could make my career what I wanted it to be.

Today, I strive to help others craft their own path to personal and professional fulfilment. I believe that focusing on personal development and having access to role models is key to having a successful career – no matter what your definition of success is. This is why I created the Women in Data Podcast in partnership with Women in Data UK. Resulting in an industry recognition as a Twenty in Data and Technology 2020, which awards visible and accessible female role models for the next generations of data professionals. And why today, I am writing here, on The Thriving Analyst.
